Candidate: Brandon Pinder

Brandon is a 7th generation Keys resident, with his family founding a portion of Islamorada in the late 1800\'s. His grandfather, Joseph Pinder Jr, has also served on the Mosquito Control Board for nearly 18 years. Brandon received his bachelors degree with a minor in public administration from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. He has been working in hospitality in the Keys as a Director of IT for over 7 years. He has also managed the computer/technology installation in the new construction of three luxury resort properties. Brandon is also a small business owner, providing IT support to other local small to medium businesses. Brandon\'s primary concern as a board member would be the health and safety of the residents of Monroe County. He has a strong desire to serve his community and accurately represent the voice of the citizens. Brandon supports environmentally sensitive methods of mosquito control, while utilizing new technologies to improve the monitoring and management of mosquito populations. He does have concerns regarding the release of genetically modified mosquitoes at the current time, and would like to see further research prior to conducting a real world trial in our community.
