Candidate: Abra Seay

Voting is one of the pillars of a democracy and our great nation. The office of Supervisor of Elections should be led with honor and respect for the laws of our local, state and federal governments while protecting the citizens’ right to vote. As a lifelong resident of our beautiful county, Abra Seay has the skills and dedication necessary to lead this office in a positive direction and serve the residents of Flagler County. SERVICE. Abra has worked in public service for the last 21 years, beginning her career at the Flagler County Supervisor of Elections office under the direction of retired Supervisor, Peggy Rae Border. Then, after completing college, she became a teacher at Bunnell Elementary where she taught for 13 years. During that time, she returned to college, while teaching and raising a family and completed her Master\'s degree in Leadership. Currently, Abra is a district administrator for Flagler Schools Early Childhood Education department. She has also served Flagler County by volunteering at the Grace Community Food Bank and being an active member of her church. INTEGRITY. Truth, honesty, dedication and hard work are character traits that all of us should possess but especially those in public office. Abra has been married for 17 years, has 5 beautiful children and 1 precious grandson. As a public school teacher, she worked hard everyday to give her students the best education and worked diligently to establish and maintain a positive relationship with them and their parents. Going above and beyond what is expected of her is part of who she is. LEADERSHIP. Abra has held various leadership roles throughout her teaching career. She also created and implemented a professional development program at Bunnell Elementary for teachers and staff; identifying areas teachers needed more training and then planning and organizing the trainings. In 2013, Abra was honored as Bunnell Elementary’s Teacher of the Year. Currently, she is a district administrator for Flagler Schools where she oversees and manages a $1.2 million dollar budget and supervises 32 staff members. Abra Seay has the skills and dedication necessary to lead the Supervisor of Elections office in a positive direction and serve the residents of Flagler County.
