Candidate's Statement

I Roseanna \"Rose\" Bronhard is a candidate for St. Lucie County Judge. I have been a resident in Florida over 21 years. I reside in Spanish Lakes Mobile Home Community in Ft. Pierce. I graduated from St. John\'s University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. I attended State University of New York(SUNY) at Buffalo law school, graduated and received my law degree, J.D. in 1990. I attended New York University(NYU)law school and graduated with my Masters of Law (LL.M) degree in Taxation. I have been a member of the Florida Bar licensed attorney over 21 years since 1991 (Florida Bar #905320). I worked as a attorney in the Florida Court System nearly a decade. I served as a Judicial Staff Attorney/Trial Court Law Clerk from 1993-1997. I served as Court Probate Counsel in Broward County from 1997-2002. As a Judicial Staff Attorney, I served under the direction and supervision of certain Circuit Court Judges. I assisted the Judiciary with case management, pending litigation and issues including appellate cases (from County to Circuit). I was responsible for drafting memos, opinions, orders supported by legal research, reviewed briefs, case files and made recommendations, advised Judges on litigation and legal issues. I rotated and worked for several Judges within criminal, family, civil and probate divisions. I made recommendations under the direction and supervision of the Judiciary assigned based on case file reviews, legal research and attendance during court hearings or proceedings. As Court Probate Counsel, I served the Judiciary within the Probate division. I reviewed and examined files at the direction and supervision of the Probate Judges. Attendance was required by judges at some hearings or trials for the purpose of legal research on intricate issues of law and assisting judges in preparation of judgments and orders. As a private attorney, I was in litigation over a petition for injunction involving a homeowner\'s association. I was in litigation involving a foreclosure case with Wells Fargo. I was in litigation involving a Bankruptcy proceeding with Sallie Mae. As a private attorney, I was in litigation involving a national well known fitness facility gym, L.A. Fitness. I was in litigation over small claim cases involving both landlord/ tenant issues. I was in litigation involving State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. In the event, I am elected, I am aware the Judicial Code of Conduct does not permit Judges from practicing law, and I can\'t take on any new extra legal cases. In the event, I win the election, impartiality is a key quality I plan on having as a possible member of the Judiciary, abide by the law (case law, statutes, etc.) and serve with integrity.
