Aaron Bowman, a servant leader to the Jacksonville community and the U.S. Navy, is running for City Council District 3. Aaron graduated from the United States Naval Academy and began his career as a pilot at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, Fla. He later became Commanding Officer at Naval Station Mayport, the third-largest Naval Station in the United States. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Masters in Business Administration from Embry-Riddle University. Aaron, his wife Deborah and son Blaise have lived in the Jacksonville area for more than 20 years and currently reside in District 3. Aaron retired as a Navy Captain with numerous awards, including the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation and Navy Commendation Medal. Currently, Aaron serves as the JAXUSA Partnership’s Senior Vice President of Business Development, working every day to grow Jacksonville’s economy. He seeks to recruit jobs to Jacksonville, focusing on aviation, aerospace and advanced manufacturing. Aaron was appointed by Governor Rick Scott as the Duval County Commissioner of the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND), charged with the maintenance and management of Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway. Aaron is also a commissioner for the St. Johns River Ferry Commission, established to manage the St. Johns River Ferry, helping ensure its operation since October 2012.
