Candidate's Statement

Since 2009 I have been focused on improving myself to better serve you. The following is a result of this focus: 1. Graduated from Daytona State College, receiving an Associate of Arts Degree. 2. Graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Business Administration Degree, graduating cum laude. These studies enhanced my ability to make qualified and educated decisions on a broad range of subjects that are incorporated in the annual budgetary process. A synopsis of these studies is defined further in this profile. 3. I have now begun studies in the graduate program at Embry Riddle where I will obtain my Master of Science in Leadership degree. According to the University, this program \"is designed to provide students with the knowledge necessary to effectively lead public and private sector organizations in the 21st Century. Through an in-depth focus on the various leadership models and strategies, students will develop an understanding of the critical elements necessary to positively impact organizational performance.\" 4. I served on the following committees for the people of Flagler County after appointment by the Board of County Commissioners: A. Flagler County Planning Board until its dissolution by the BOCC. I was appointed by a vote of 4 - 1. B. Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Charter Government for Flagler County. I was appointed by a vote of 4 - 1. I also served on the Affordable Housing Committee during the 2006-2007 period. I was appointed by a vote of 5 - 0. I served on three Florida Realtor State Committees to further the integrity of the industry. I served on the Flagler County Association of Realtors Board of Directors in 2009 and 2010. I am currently in the fourth year of service as a member of the Professional Standards and Ethics Committee arbitration council. During my professional career, I have held several management positions where I was responsible for the ethical and profitable operation of companies in a cross section of industries, employing as many as 500 employees. In each of these appointments, I succeeded and brought profits to the companies. The synopsis of courses at Embry Riddle include course studies in Public Administration, 2 courses in accounting in addition to 4 accounting courses taken prior to my studies for the Associate of Arts degree. I also completed 18 Management and Ethics related courses to improve my knowledge and skills in evaluating and operating ethically in a domestic and international environment. This education prepared me to more fully understand the basic analytical thinking processes that will enable me to evaluate all information presented to fully analyze and determine the most advantageous expenditure of your tax dollars to obtain the maximum return on that expense.
