Ryan Perez, a first-generation American and lifelong resident of Union County, is running for Union County Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller. Born to a family who fled communism in Nicaragua in the 1980s, Ryan understands – firsthand – the blessings of our great nation and has dedicated his life to upholding the principles of freedom, public voice, and stewardship of public resources. In addition to his formal education in Public Relations and Leadership from the University of Florida, his extensive experience includes serving as the Chairman of the Union County Board of County Commissioners, giving him an in-depth understanding of county business, policies, and the budget process.

Why Ryan is Running for Clerk of Courts

Over the past few years, personal conflicts have derailed the effectiveness and fidelity of county business and resources. Ryan believes that if residents aren't paying attention to what's been happening in local government, they should be. Encouraged by citizens and peers who recognize his leadership and ability to navigate contentious environments, Ryan is committed to getting Union County back on track.

Vision for the Clerk’s Office

Ryan's vision is to restore communication and collaboration between all offices in local government. He aims to uphold policies, checks and balances, and legislation while maintaining a cooperative and professional working relationship with all parties involved. His formal training with the Florida Association of Counties has equipped him with a network of leaders around the state for guidance and collaboration.
