Candidate: Ken Doherty

Ken Doherty, Candidate for Charlotte County Commissioner District 1 No Party Affiliation website: www.ElectKenDoherty.com Ken Doherty was raised in the suburbs of Boston, and received a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire in 1972. Ken moved to Charlotte County in April, 1973. He and his wife Nancy reside in Deep Creek, where they raised their three (3) sons. Ken was appointed to the position of Assistant County Engineer in 1979, and was subsequently promoted to County Engineer and then to Assistant County Administrator for Charlotte County. He was Vice-Chairman of the original Home Rule Charter Commission in 1985, and has been a member of all the Charter Review Commissions, the latest being in 2004. Ken is currently the President of TerraSport, Inc., a civil engineering firm that specializes in the site and playing field designs for professional and collegiate sports facilities around the country. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in numerous states, and the District of Columbia.
