Candidate: Alexandra Compere

Alexandra Compere was born and raised in Clay County, Florida. She comes from three generations of sugarcane farmers. Her parents migrated to the United States in the 1980s from Haiti in search of a better life.

Alexandra lives out the American dream every day. Her parents taught her that, with a little determination and a lot of hard work, she could accomplish just about anything here in America. She attended the schools in Clay and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of North Florida, a Master’s Degree in Christian Education from North Florida Theological Seminary, and a Juris Doctor degree from the Florida Coastal School of Law. Alexandra serves NE Florida as an attorney— currently in her fifth year of private practice. She has or currently serves on various boards, including the Board of Directors at St. Johns Classical Academy and the Board of Ethics for Clinical Pastoral Education International, Inc. 

Alexandra has a history of striving for excellence. During her time at Florida Coastal School of Law, she earned a position on the Moot Court Honor Board through her display of exemplary oral advocacy and writing skills. When the time came for her peers to select two advocates to represent the School of Law at an exclusive, Top 14 Schools, National Championship, Alexandra was chosen to go. She wants to use that skill set acquired for the benefit of this beautiful community.

As a lifelong resident of Clay County and almost ten-year resident of OakLeaf, her deep roots in this county underscore her belief that Clay is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. Her aim is to make a meaningful contribution by being a servant leader who advocates for this deserving community. Accessibility and open lines of communication will be key to accomplishing that goal. Alexandra has attended MorningStar Family Church for almost 30 years. When work and community service give way to leisure, she spends time with her large family made up of five sisters and brothers.
