ABC’s WITH Gi

Advocacy
Gi is determined to continue her work in advocating for the community and the citizens of
District 2 - from all backgrounds and all industries, and at all levels of society.

Business
Central to Gi’s promise is supporting and growing the local industry, business and restaurant
base that will provide local employment within the county and help lessen the tax burden from
our residents. She draws on her vast experience in property, retail and leasing management in
attracting new business and improving our available spaces in the county.

Community of Clay County
With Clay County’s strong growth, Gi brings her business and corporate experience to
ensure we continue to preserve and improve our quality of life, and build a smart future
for the county that is meaningful, purposeful and responsible.

SERVANT LEADERSHIP - A PASSION FOR ACTION
Gi Teevan is a community leader and an owner of 2 small businesses based in Clay County.
She is the founder and CEO of prodiGi, a marketing and event planning company, and TECK
Vending which operates numerous vending machines in NE Florida. Gi is a seasoned
marketing professional with more than 20 years of marketing, brand management,
communications and event planning experience, spanning from her work with global
companies like Unilever, Coca-Cola and Simon Malls, managing a fiscally responsible budget.

Gi strongly believes in actively supporting the local community and works with several
organizations in the county:

- Board Director, Clay County Tourism Development Council
- Board Director, Pace Center for Girls
- Marketing Advisory Committee, Mercy Support Services
- Past Chair, Clay Chamber’s Women’s Empowerment Council
- Vice Chair, Clay Education Foundation
- Secretary, Rotary Club of Orange Park
Additionally, during her husband’s active duty service, Gi served as a Navy Family
Ombudsman for NAS Jacksonville and volunteered as a financial counselor for the Navy
Marine Corps Relief Society. She is an active member of St. Catherine Catholic Church.

MILITARY WIFE - SUPPORTING MILITARY FAMILIES & VETERANS
She has been married to her husband, Scott Teevan, for 19 years whom she met in Guam.
They have 2 children, Cierra and Kael, who currently attend Ridgeview High School. Since
their marriage, the military has moved them from Guam, to Hawaii to Florida where Scott
retired from the US Navy after 24 years of dedicated service. While serving as a Navy Family
Ombudsman for NAS Jacksonville, Gi was awarded a fellowship with the FINRA Foundation
for Military Spouses to become an accredited financial counselor - one of the few selected
among thousands of military spouse applicants. She then paid it forward again to the military
community by becoming a volunteer financial counselor at the Navy Marine Corps Relief
Society where she helped active duty members and retirees, volunteering hundreds of hours
to address and find solutions for their financial issues and problems.

While she was the Marketing Director in the mall and retail industry, she established a “Hero
Parking” for the active duty military, veterans and first responders. She is known in the
community for her leadership in the community event “Freedom Fest” supporting local military
families and first responders. Gi also spearheaded and collaborated with mall retailers in
establishing and promoting military discounts to our military community of shoppers.

IMMIGRANT - A VOICE FOR ALL
Born in the Philippines to a Chinese immigrant family, Gi moved to Guam in 2000 while she
was working for Coca-Cola and became a US citizen in 2006. She went to Immaculate
Conception Academy Catholic high school and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree
from Ateneo de Manila University. It was during these formative years that her passion for
action started, being introduced to a life of community outreach and service for those in need
while working with farmers and fishermen in the nearby towns of Manila, Philippines. During
her early career, she worked with the Philippines’ Department of Education in establishing a
national free school milk distribution program to reach the less fortunate students all over the
country.

As an immigrant to the US, Gi believes in the better life that the country has been able to offer
her and wants to give back by serving as a county commissioner for Clay County’s District 2.
Gi speaks 3 languages - English, Tagalog and Fukien (plus a little bit of Mandarin).
