Candidate: Martin Genska

Martin (Marty) Genska was born just outside of Syracuse, NY and relocated to Florida in early 1998 due to an employment transfer.  After retiring early in 2002 from his Software Engineering position, Marty and his wife wanted to ‘pay it forward’.  They pretty much sold everything and hit the road in an RV, immediately joined up with Habitat for Humanity International and ended up completing over 25 home building projects over nine years throughout the country.  When he was not building homes with HFH, Marty has worked with several food pantries and Meals on Wheels programs.

With almost 12 years on the road, Marty and his wife decided to settle back down and build a new home in Middleburg, FL. so they could be closer to their daughter, son-in-law and four grandchildren.    Marty’s desire to continue community service brought him to his local HOA where he continues to serve on the Architectural Review Board.  Marty joined the Ridgewood Trails CDD in 2018 as an appointed Supervisor and is looking forward to continuing his service to the community.
