Candidate's Statement

Alexandria “Alex” Hill has a passion for public service. As a conservative business leader, Alex cares about the economic development and responsible growth of the county.  As a wife and mother, Alex is proud to raise her family in Clay County and is committed to continuing our rich tradition and family-focused values to nurture an enriching community for future generations.

Alex started her career as an associate attorney in a small law firm in Jacksonville, before joining GrayRobinson, P.A. where she was a Senior Associate and later Of Counsel. During her time in private practice, Alex represented several small to medium size companies as outside general counsel assisting various local companies in all legal aspects of their business and helping those companies grow responsibly.

While she is still affiliated with GrayRobinson, P.A., Alex’s primary focus is serving as Chief Legal Counsel for Maple Street Biscuit Company, an emerging restaurant group based out of Orange Park.  Maple Street currently has 33 locations across 7 states, including one location in Fleming Island.  Alex dedicates her time, and has throughout her career, to helping local businesses grow and prosper, which in turns builds a stronger community.

Early in her career, Alex also gained first-hand experience helping clients navigate through Florida’s foreclosure crisis.  This experience gave Alex a greater appreciation for fiscal responsibility and how to properly manage growth while balancing risk.

As an attorney, Alex has been recognized by her peers and clients as a Florida Super Lawyer Rising Star and has received an AV Preeminent™ rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest level of professional excellence in the legal profession.

Alex is also a dedicated servant leader.  She has a proven history of sharing her time and legal talents with the community.  Most recently, she led a group of attorneys to help victims of Hurricane Michael. This work, along with her pro bono service in both Clay and Duval counties, earned her recognition from the Jacksonville Area Legal Aid this year.  In addition to her pro bono work, Alex has served in several leadership roles both in the legal community as well as the non-profit sector.  Alex is a past president of The Young Lawyers Section of the Jacksonville Bar Association, former Chair of the Board of Directors for Girls, Inc. Jacksonville and currently serves as a board member for the Girl Scouts of Gateway Council.  Alex also serves as a volunteer judge for the Teen Court Program in Clay County, is a graduate of Leadership Clay class of 2019 and is a member of the Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunrise.

Her work in the community and in her profession earned Alex The Lynn Futch Most Productive Young Lawyer Award in 2017.  This award is given out by the Florida Bar’s Young Lawyer Division to only one attorney in the state each year.

As an indication of her commitment to Clay County, Alex was recently appointed to the Clay County Development Authority by Governor DeSantis.

While Alex is passionate about her career, she is most proud of her family.  Alex is an enthusiastic coach’s wife.  Her husband, Hunter, is an American History teacher at Clay High School as well as the head wrestling coach and assistant football coach.  Alex and Hunter serve the youth of Clay County through her husband’s youth wrestling program, Green Cove Springs Wrestling Club, a 501(c)(3) organization with a focus on the community.  The Hill family has deep roots in Clay County as Hunter is a third generation Clay County resident and a graduate of Clay High.

Alex and her husband are proud to raise their two children, Colton and AnnMarie, in Clay County.  Both children are involved in many local programs.  Colton attends a Clay County public school and is an avid wrestler, football player and baseball player.  Colton has been involved with both ClayPal and OPAA.  AnnMarie is still in preschool, but is starting her hand at gymnastics at North Florida Gymnastics in Orange Park.  Much of Alex’s free time is spent cheering on her children in the gym or on the field.

The family attends Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fleming Island.

Alex has a B.B.A. in finance and marketing from Stetson University and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida.
