Candidate for Port of Palm Beach

Presently, I am serving on the Palm Beach Port Authority as it’s Chair.  I was elected to this position for a four-year term.  I have filed to run for a second term in the 2020 election for the Port.

I have three grown children and four sisters who have supported me over the years in my various endeavors in my personal, community and business life.  My favorite hobbies are playing golf, spending time with my family and friends, running and making improvements to my home.

My special interests include working to make our community a better place to live and contributing my time to making sure that those who need help get it.  I am co-founder and co-chair of Palm Beach County Cares that led a countrywide, public/private/ community group to assist in the relief efforts for Caribbean victims of the 2017 and 2019 hurricanes.  This group provided tons of water and several generators to Puerto citizens to service rural communities. 

 I was vice president and a founding member of COMTO (Conference of Minority Transportation Offices) located in Palm Beach County.  Mayor Muoio appointed me to the WPB Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee in 2015 and I served until 2017.  I have served as a board member of the Boys and Girls Club in our area. 

My awards include the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Chamber Palm Beach Countywide 2017 Community Service Award and the Keiser University Community Outreach Award for post hurricane efforts in 2017.  I have several awards that pertain to my achievements in the business world.  This year the Democratic Women’s Club of Palm Beach County is honoring me with the “Great Women Among Us” Award. 

I am presently CEO and Chair of Panacea Oyster Co-Op Corporation.  In that position, I manage the Oyster Coop, based in Wakulla County, for approximately 20 ranchers to provide them with the processing, distribution and sales vehicle to help them succeed in their oyster business.  The company is a certified member of Whole Foods grocery chain and sells through distributors and retail markets. 

As co-owner of Northway Coastal Industries Inc. that manages three aquaculture leases in Oyster Bay, our team oversees the growth of over 1 million oysters to be processed and sold through the Panaceas Oyster Co-op in Florida and other states.

I worked for Sprint in the Washington D.C. area for 10 years before moving to Florida.  I served as Director/Vice President, Wholesales Services, of Sprint and before that Senior Marketing Manager.

I am very proud to have a Master’s in Business (MBA) from Palm Beach Atlantic University.  My undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Virginia.
