Candidate's Statement

Dr. Gregory N. Seltzer-Candidate for Santa Rosa School Board

Education: Greg is a retired college and university professor with over 30 years teaching experience.

·        BA, MA, M.Div. Ph.D. D. Min. degrees.

·        33 additional post-graduate hours in Leadership in Teaching.

Experience:

·        30 years teaching in Community College-Economics, Finance & Business Administration.

·        University Professor- teaching Personal Financial Planning & Government Public Policy & Finance.

·        8 years as a member of a County Public Library Board of Trustee.

·        Chair of the Finance & Budget Committee responsible for the creation of and implementation of a $20 million budget.

·        Served on the School Social Studies Curriculum Advisory Committee.

·        Former 8th Grade Middle School Socials Studies Teacher.

What does Greg Stand for?

·        Greg decided to run for the School Board because he believes he has the time, experience, qualifications, and experience to serve our children, our grandchildren, our schools, and the future.

·        Greg believes that everyone must have a seat at the table, parents, teachers, and administrators to communicate, cooperate and collaborate for the best educational interests of our children in our public schools.

·        Greg believes in being a listener who will always be accessible to citizens concerns while he represents every person involved in Santa Rosa County.

·        Greg believes in professional recognition and respect for our educators.

·        Greg believes in budget transparency and accountability.

·        Greg believes in increased vocational/technical education opportunities for high-paying non-college jobs in allied health and technical fields.

·        Greg believes in enhanced IT spending to stay current with a rapidly changing work environment.

·        Greg believes in financial literacy curriculum for all students beginning in primary grades.

·        Greg believes in School Board Workshops during the day & evening to accommodate parent-teacher input into the systems best practices.
