Candidate: Donna Boroughs

Hello friends.  My name is Donna Boroughs, and I am a candidate for Holmes County Tax Collector.  I graduated from Holmes County High School in 1976, became certified in Data Processing at Washington/Holmes Vocational Technical School, and attended Valencia Community College where I studied accounting and economics.   I had the opportunity to work for Holmes County under Cody Taylor, Clerk of Court as Secretary/Bookkeeper early in my career;  a position that taught me not only the structure of county finance, but also, how to provide excellent customer service.  I have worked in the revenue cycle field for over 30 years. Since 2002, I have held the position of Revenue Cycle Director at Doctors Memorial Hospital. In this position, I oversee all phases of the revenue cycle, while assisting administration in accounting functions as needed.  Interacting with local, state and federal governmental departments is a part of my daily function as Revenue Cycle Director.  My first job in 1978 was at the then Holmes County Hospital, where I was hired as switchboard operator. Excellent customer service, work ethic and proven dependability allowed me to be promoted to all levels in the business office, then to computer operator and accounting as Assistant Controller.  That same customer service, work ethic and dependability will go with me into the office of Tax Collector.

I married my husband, Steve Boroughs, on October 17, 1980. Steve owns and operates Bonifay Feed, Seed and Nursery on Waukesha Street in Bonifay. We served as Assistant Pastors at Harris Chapel in the Gritney community for 5 years before being called to serve as Pastors to Mt. Zion Independent Baptist Church in March of 1999. We are in our 21st year there, and we count it an honor and a privilege to be afforded this opportunity.
