\" I THINK WE CAN DO A BETTER JOB AND THAT\'S WHY I WANT TO BE RE-ELECTED FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONER IN DISTRICT 4.\" I HAVE 100% OF THE TIME VOTED AGAINST ANY AND ALL TAXES AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. WE NEED LESS GOVERNMENT - LESS REGULATIONS - LESS TAXES - AND LESS INTERFERENCE IN OUR DAILY LIVES. I ran in 2010 to protect property rights. I voted against the taking of additional land as a buffer. The county has more natural wetland buffers than any county in the state. THE TRUTH IS, to retain its beautiful nature and financial stability, Wakulla County needs people in leadership who care about its future - who can balance the preservation of natural beauty with the demands of progress. I want to help remove the roadblock at the county line and invite businesses to communities. These taxes keep the burden of government off the homeowners. LET ME TELL YOU A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF: I started visiting Wakulla County in the late 1950s for the fishing. After enjoying so many years of camping, fishing, and kayaking while vacationing, we decided to move here permanently. We have since invested in this county both financially and personally. I grew up in a small town in the great Smokey Mountains called Hayesville, North Carolina. My wife of 47 years, Virginia, a native Floridian from DeFuniak Springs, also grew up in a fairly rural area. She is a graduate of Shorter College, Rome, GA with a degree in Music Education. I attended Young Harris College before transferring to Auburn University, where I received a degree in Pharmacy. After I managed a Sears Roebuck Pharmacy in Atlanta for 10 years, I entered the real estate profession for another 30 years. I later moved into property management, then finance, then to shopping center development and eventually into investment properties. Today we make our investments in Wakulla County. ANOTHER IMPORTANT IDENTIFY FOR ME IS \"DAD\": Both of our children graduated from the University of Georgia. Our son David is a real estate funds director for the Southeast, US. Our daughter, Donna is a Veterinarian in Alpharetta Georgia, and both have enjoyed visiting Wakulla with our four grandchildren.
