Candidate: Scott Moore

Good afternoon. My name is Scott Moore, and I am honored to talk to you today about my background and my candidacy for the Nassau County Ocean, Highway, and Port Authority District 2.

I come to you after a career dedicated to service, service to the American people and to the citizens of Florida. From my 20 years in the United States Air Force, where I commanded an Intelligence collection unit during Operation Desert Storm, to my 20+ year tenure with Customs and Border Protection where I served as the National Director of Investigations and as the Director of Marine Operations for the Caribbean, I have been privileged to serve our nation and the people of Florida with distinction. Now, I am ready to bring that same dedication and leadership to serve the people of Nassau County as YOUR representative on the Ocean Highway & Port Authority.

For too long, the OHPA has faltered, losing its role as the economic engine for Nassau County. My vision is clear: we must restore OHPA to its former glory and beyond. How? By developing new, profitable lines of business that will bring jobs and prosperity back to ALL of Nassau County.

But it’s not just about making money; it’s about how we spend it. Too often, hard-earned OHPA money has been wasted on inefficient and unnecessary projects. Quite frankly, you deserve more from OHPA and I’m just the Moore to put an end to the wasteful spending that does not enhance the lives of any of us. I solemnly pledge to you that every vote I make as your OHPA Representative will be made based on what is best for all the citizens of Nassau County, not just the Port of Fernandina.

Transparency is also non-negotiable. You deserve to know how decisions are made and how your money is being spent. That’s why I will ensure that OHPA operates with full transparency in everything it does. No more closed-door deals or backroom decisions. We owe that much to the hardworking families of Nassau County.

Friends, this election isn’t just about me or my opponent. It’s about you and what we want to build together. Do you want a future where OHPA is a beacon of economic opportunity for ALL of the county? Do you want a future where businesses thrive, and good paying jobs are created in ALL of the county? Do you want a future where every dollar OHPA spends serves ALL of the county?  If you answered YES, then your choice is CLEAR.

On August 20th, I ask for your support. Together, let’s bring the OHPA back to prosperity. Let’s make OHPA a model of efficiency and innovation. And let’s ensure that OHPA brings opportunities and resources to ALL of Nassau County. You deserve so much more from OHPA and I’m just the Moore to help you get it!
