Candidate: Holly Merrill Raschein

Holly Merrill Raschein was appointed to the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners in September 2021 and was elected to the seat in August 2022. Raschein is the Government Relations Director for AshBritt and is raising her 12-year-old son in Tavernier.  Previously, she served eight years in the Florida House of Representatives.

Raschein is on the boards of Florida National Parks Association, Florida Association of Counties, Monroe County Education Foundation, Florida Keys Healthy Start Coalition, American Red Cross Greater Miami & The Keys and Thriving Mind South Florida.  She’s an appointee to the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, an Upper Keys Rotarian, and is a past member of the Florida Defense Support Task Force and past Florida State Director for the National Foundation of Women Legislators.  

She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida State University and master of public administration from Florida International University.
