Candidate: Joshua Dieguez

Hello! My name is Josh Dieguez and I am a proud lifelong resident of Miami Lakes. I grew up playing in our parks and lakes and have seen firsthand how our little town has changed in that time. I’ve also been involved for many years as a member of the Neighborhood Improvement Committee, Elderly Affairs Committee, Miami Lakes Bar Association, Charter Revision Commission and by just being “that guy" who speaks his mind during public workshops and council meetings. 

I graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and History from Florida International University with honors and after that with a J.D. from St. Thomas University where I was a member of a competitive honor society and recognized on the Dean’s List. Currently, I am an attorney at my family's law firm, Dieguez & Associates, which has been located in Miami Lakes since 2002. 

Being a lifelong resident and someone who works in the town, I understand your frustrations with traffic, blasting, and development and I want to do something about it. There are four “open” seats this election cycle and I believe I bring a unique understanding of our town and energy to my race because of my upbringing here and my proven commitment to making Miami Lakes a better place to live for all of us. I also believe that I bring both an understanding of the issues and fresh perspective that will be crucial as the town continues to be impacted by forces in and outside its borders.

If you want someone who isn’t your typical politician, not beholden to special interest, and willing to take the unpopular stance in pursuit of doing the right thing, then I am your guy!  I hope to earn your vote in the coming months and that at the end, you will give me the opportunity to do my part to keep Miami Lakes “Growing Beautifully."
