Candidate's Statement

Ayesha Solomon was born and raised in Alachua County.  She has been employed with the Alachua County Property Appraiser's office for over 18 years.  As the Administrative Manager, she coordinates with the Property Appraiser and all of the directors, planning, organizing, and managing the operations of the office.  In her 18 years of employment, she has worked her way from a staff member in customer service and exemptions, residential, commercial, tangible personal property and to the manager of the administration department.

Solomon is a Certified Florida Evaluator (CFE) through the Florida Department of Revenue, holds a current Florida Real Estate License, and has obtained a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems through St. Leo University and a master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management through Northcentral University.  Solomon is currently enrolled in the Leadership Gainesville training while simultaneously completing a higher designation, Assessment Administration Specialist (AAS) through the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) Organization.

As a young girl, she learned what was required to be a trailblazer as a Gateway Council Girl Scout Junior.  She continues to be heavily involved in a multitude of nonprofit organizations and has a love for adolescences.  Solomon was the driving force behind the Avoiding Illegal Distractions (A.I.D.) program in Alachua County to mentor troubled teens and helped them get back on the right track.

Her 18 years of experience combined with a great passion to serve her community qualify her as an outstanding candidate for Alachua County Property Appraiser.  Solomon’s key initiatives for the Property Appraiser's Office are focused on producing a fair and equitable tax roll by maintaining transparency, embracing new and innovative technology, enhancing community outreach and increasing exceptional customer service for all taxpayers in Alachua County.

“I promise to be transparent, to work with the public and elected officials, and to be purposely proactive in educating residents about reassessments and exemptions.”
