Mayor Johnston Bio

Elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2020, Mayor Teri Johnston is the current Mayor of Key West. Previously, she served as City Commissioner from 2007 to 2015. Since becoming Mayor, Teri Johnston has focused on policymaking that facilitates a strong economic future for Key West. To do that, Mayor Johnston has focused on three main areas. First, she’s prioritized building affordable housing in Key West, with 230 new units on the horizon. Second, she’s created new opportunities for our businesses by crafting new programs, such as the in-development outdoor café dining program. Finally, she has been diligently working with City officials and the City’s planning firm, Sasaki, to revitalize Mallory Square so it can continue to be beloved for generations to come. Our future is bright and let’s work together to keep it that way by re-electing Mayor Johnston!
