“Unity in the Community”
Palm Coast, January 29, 2024 – Shara Brodsky has announced that she is running for election to the City of Palm Coast Council to represent constituents in District #1. The Council’s primary function is to set policies for the management of the city and changes to city law, negotiate and approve the city budget, and meet with constituents to learn their issues and concerns. The election will be held November 5, 2024.
Originally from Staten Island, New York, Shara has been a resident of Palm Coast since 1995 and is a graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School. She has an Associate of Science degree in interior design and a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Daytona State College. In 2023 she graduated from the Palm Coast Citizens Academy.
Since 2010 she has been managing the popular boutique Chez Jacqueline in Palm Coast. The boutique has been fundraising for dozens of local non-profits over the last 12 years. Chez Jacquelinehas raised more than $250,000 over the past decade and this past October raised more than $25,000 to support the Advent Health Palm Coast Foundation Breast Cancer Fund. Brodsky belongs to the Palm Coast Lions Club, Professional Women of Flagler County, and is the event coordinator for S.M.A.R.T. Animal Rescue of Flagler County.
The granddaughter and daughter of officers for the New York Police Department, Brodsky is married to Jose Rivera, a United States Army Veteran. Shara is establishing partnerships with key local government officials which she will continue to maintain and strengthen. She is particularly concerned as to how the city budget is allocated, bearing in mind that the budget is made up of taxes levied on homeowners and business owners.
Shara is well known throughout the community as a citizen committed to giving back, being compassionate, loyal, and accountable. She has no established party affiliation and prefers the freedom to choose issues and solutions outside the constraints of party platforms. Says Brodsky, “I have chosen a path to demonstrate my dedication to Palm Coast and to help implement new ideas for intelligent growth and wise management. I want to give Palm Coast the future it deserves and a place for its citizens to thrive.”
