Candidate: Julie K. Taylor

Judge Julie Taylor is a devoted public servant who was appointed to the Duval County bench by Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Julie is a Jacksonville native and has dedicated her life to practicing and upholding the law for 25 years in the Jacksonville community.

After graduating from Bolles in 1989, she received her B.A. in English from the University of Florida in 1992 and her J.D. from Samford University Cumberland School of Law in 1996. Julie then returned home to begin her legal career.

Julie started her career in public service as an assistant public defender. She also worked in private practice before serving as an assistant state attorney.  Julie’s legal credentials are thorough, litigating on both sides of the courtroom throughout her career. Prior to becoming a Judge, Julie was employed as General Counsel for the 4th Judicial Circuit Court since 2017. Years later she was appointed to be a hearing officer and special magistrate, then was appointed by the Governor to the bench as Duval County Judge.

Throughout her legal career, Judge Taylor’s breadth of work and community dedication make her uniquely suited for voters to retain as their Duval County Judge in 2022.
