Candidate's Statement

Hi!  I’m Kimberly Scott, a Jacksonville native, born and raised in Durkeeville/Mid-West neighborhood and educated in Duval County Public Schools.  I am excited and proud to announce my candidacy for Jacksonville City Council - District 7.

Jacksonville is special to me and is the only city where I have lived.  I attended the University of North Florida, obtaining two degrees:   a Master of Arts in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.  I proudly served the community for 32 years with the City of Jacksonville Government, appointed by three (3) Jacksonville Mayors and promoted through the following city departments:  Neighborhoods, Regulatory Compliance, Environmental Compliance, Regulatory & Environmental Services, Public Works, and the Public Library.

I continue to serve our great community as a member of the A.M.E. Housing Board, which oversees the newly-renovated Campus Towers Senior Living Apartments and Morris Manor Senior Living Apartments.  Also, I serve as a member of the City of Jacksonville's Civil Service Board.
