Candidate's Statement

Judge Rachel D. Myers joined the Seventh Judicial Circuit as a Volusia County Judge in 2022 following her appointment by Governor Ron DeSantis.

Judge Myers received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and her Juris Doctor degree from Liberty University School of Law, where she received the Meritorious Service Award for her Pro Bono and Community Service.

Prior to becoming a trial court judge, Judge Myers practiced law for eleven years in Volusia County in both the public and private sectors. She served as an assistant state attorney for the Seventh Judicial Circuit prosecuting juvenile, misdemeanor and felony cases. In the private sector she first practiced as an associate at Landis Graham French, P.A. representing individuals and local governmental entities and then as the managing partner at Myers Law Group, P.A. where she focused primarily on the areas of family, estate planning and dependency law.

As a fifth generation Volusia County resident, Judge Myers is actively involved in her community by serving as the Co-Chairman of the Volusia/Flagler Domestic Violence Advisory Committee, a member of the Volusa County Bar Association, the Volusia/Flagler Association for Women Lawyers, the Dunn Blount Inn of Court, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Junior Service League of DeLand Sustainers and the Krewe of Amalee. She is a past president of the Volusia/Flagler Association for Women Lawyers, the Volusia County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division and the Junior Service League of DeLand.

In 2023 Judge Myers was recognized as The DeLand Woman of the Year by the Junior Service League and honored by the City of DeLand proclaiming March 20, 2023 “Judge Rachel Myers Day”. The Daytona Beach News Journal honored Judge Myers with the 2024 Forty Under Forty award and in 2020 the, then attorney Myers, with the Women in Business Award, recognizing her as one of the most influential women in business servicing Volusia and Flagler counties.

While raising their three young children together, Judge Myers and her husband Zachary enjoy attending their church, spending time on the water and visiting with family and friends.
