Candidate: Barbara Bonarrigo

Being German by birth and American by choice gives me an interesting perspective. I believe mu American citizenship is a privilege and community service is my duty!

For the last 30 years, I've sought ways to be active in the community. I currently serve the Ormond Beach Human Resource Board and Board of Adjustments and Appeals; and Leisure Services Advisory Board. Most recently, Governor DeSantis asked and I accepted a role on Florida's Smell Business Advisory Board Network of Florida.

In 2020, The Volusia Manufacturing Association named me "Women of the Year" for my female owned, small business and the News Journal awarded me as one of the 2020 Most Influencial Woman in Business. As CEO, I have experience with local,state,and federal contracts and seen my share of red tape! More importantly, I understand how government policies impact families and business, how our city commission can manage growth and spur job opportunities, and the need to protect our local resources.

Today, my husband and I have three grown children, all living and working in the state of Florida. My grandchildren are constant reminders that we must preserve  and protect the American Dream for future generations.

Although I came from Europe and love to travel, Ormond Beach is where I laid down roots. This is where I play tennis and walk the beach and spend time with family and friends.

For these reasons, I am running for Ormond Beach City Commisioner. It's my intention to serve my neighbors in Zone 3 while protecting the character and charm of Ormond Beach.
