Candidate's Statement

Ralph De Palma

Florida resident since 1969. Received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army August 1972, obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida International University, Miami also hold a Commercial Pilot license and Airframe and Powerplant license. Employed at the John F. Kennedy Space Center by Lockheed Space Operations as an Orbiter Processing Facility technical supervisor then manager helping to process 17 Space Shuttle Missions.  Later managed a GIS Mapping project at KSC.  Project Manager for numerous software systems for several Fortune 500 companies.

Employed by Florida Keys Mosquito Control District 2001 through 2014. Established the first data network system connecting all three offices. Managed the first data collection software systems and the first aerial spray software systems for FKMCD. Trained mosquito control software at statewide Florida Mosquito Control Association, Dodd Courses for 4 years. Developed data system tools that helped control the outbreak of Dengue Fever 2009 and 2010.

Currently a full-time Photographer devoted to chronicling the Key West music scene maintaining a library of thousands of images of Key West musicians.  Authored three publications, The Soul of Key West, Volume I & II, and The Soul of Havana - photo journalist reviews of the music scenes and the musicians. Vice President of the Bahama Village Music Program.
