·       Resident of Monroe County since 1999: Florida resident since 1992; Native North Carolinian; Eagle Scout; Honorable Discharge from the US Army Reserves; Graduate Chemist from North Carolina State University with an MBA from the University of North Carolina

·       More than 40 years experience in the private sector chemical industry, 27 of those years with BFI, a global chemical producer and marketer until retiring as corporate President and shareholder in 2008

·       Community Service includes: member of the USCG Auxiliary and Certified HAZWOPER Instructor (having certified about 1600 Keys residents); Sanctuary Advisory Council; Key West Military Affairs Committee (past president), Monroe County Marine and Port Advisory Committee; and, Key West Chamber of Commerce 

·       Fiscally conservative Republican and Registered Parliamentarian
