Candidate: Teri Johnston

Teri Johnston has a proven political will and can get the difficult job done for all of Key West. She is the most experienced candidate running for Mayor. She was elected to the Key West City Commission in 2007 and re-elected in 2011. During her time on the dais, Teri was instrumental in passing mandatory recycling and developing a solid waste master plan. She advocated competitive bidding on city contracts, championed workforce housing, a clean Key West, and safe sidewalks and bike lanes. Teri is a strong proponent for strategic planning to address issues such as sea-level rise and climate change. She was president of F.I.R.M. when the organization won a reduction in windstorm insurance rates by 34% for Monroe County. Teri is a successful small business owner and a contributing member of our island community.
