Candidate: Kay Cullen

I currently hold Commission Seat 2 on the KLFREMS District Board and I want to continue to serve you by continuing to ensure that first class emergency medical and fire service is provided at the lowest possible cost.  My job as Commissioner is to make sure the agencies have everything they need to provide first class service, not everything they want when viewed in light of budget concerns.

I was instrumental in the development of two community outreach programs: the Key Largo Citizen’s EMS Academy and the Key Largo Citizen’s Fire Academy to meet our strategic goal of improving community relations.  Both of these programs are available to community organizations and the citizens of Key Largo and serve to increase public awareness of each agencies’ functions and financial needs.  I also enjoy a strong working relationship with both agencies and the Chief. 

I recognize that there are challenges ahead regarding the present millage cap as well as recruitment and retention of personnel for both agencies.   I want to continue to help the District work through these challenges. 

Each item that comes before me for considerartion if viewed in the following light:  A) What are the ramifications to the agency and personnel; and B) What are the ramifications to the services provided and to you, the taxpayer.

 I am doing the job for you now and I want to continue to do the job. I ask for your vote in November, 2018.  Thank you.
