Cathy Heighter has spent the last two decades of her life devoted to the betterment of the veteran and the local community. After losing her son in Iraq in 2003, Cathy made it her mission to fight for the rights of veterans across the country. Cathy is no stranger to leading the charge on many fronts. She is the Co-Founder and current CEO of the Remembering Heroes Non-for-Profit Organization, Chapter President of the Volusia County/Daytona Beach American Gold Star Mothers Inc., and a Local Realtor and member of the Homes for Heroes organization. 

Cathy played an instrumental role in getting a legislative bill passed that increased the death benefit for the families of members of the armed forces; helped raise millions of dollars for New York's Fallen Heroes Fund, and personally awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to graduating seniors in New York and Palm Coast through Raheen's Legacy Scholarship Fund.
