Janice Lucas' family history in Panama City can be traced back to the 1920s when her great-grandfather George Lucas and his son, Early Lucas, moved from Cordele, Georgia, with their families in search of a better life.
In the 1940s, her father, Joel Lucas met his future wife, Mable Louis Wright, in the 1940s when her father, Olen Wright, came to work at Tyndall Field. And, as they would say, the rest is history.
Her parents made St. Andrews their home. They raised a family of five (Janice is number four). They also owned and operated the St. Andrews Fish Market on Beck Avenue. She was born in Bay County. She grew up in St. Andrews. She calls Panama City home, but Ward 2 is her community.
