Candidate: Sam Peebles

My name is Sam Peebles, and it would be an absolute honor to serve as your commissioner in Seat 1.

I am a 3rd generation citizen of Lynn Haven. I left Lynn Haven to join the Air Force, and my wife and I realized Lynn Haven was where we were supposed to be. So, we moved back because we love it so much. In all, I have loved living in Lynn Haven for over 25 years.

With that being said, I know that there can be positive improvements for the city. After spending most my life here, I know the potential of Lynn Haven. I believe I can be a positive influence to help us as a community reach our potential.

My main goal is to care for the city by caring for its people. The main way I believe we can do this is to listen to our community members, be as transparent as possible, and to use tax dollars wisely. If we do this, we can reach Lynn Haven’s true potential.

If you trust me as your commissioner for seat 1, I pledge to listen to your concerns, be transparent, be available, and be your voice in times when it is needed.  

In my current day job, I am a Risk Management Analyst. What that means is I look at potential or ongoing risks, and know how to best prioritize time and money to fix them. I can use these skills to help our city. If proper risk management was done, we would not be having the flood problems we have now (among others).

I also want to focus on generating funds for our city in more creative ways. I would much rather raise needed money from people who want to pay it, than tax those who it could put a financial burden on just because they want to live in Lynn Haven.

We also can focus on our local businesses. If we can loosen financial burdens on local business owners, or incentivize more local business to be built here, this can create more local jobs, and potentially attract external funds coming to the city. More local business means more money that stays in Lynn Haven.

I am not a politician, and I never truly will be. What I am is a husband and father of an amazing family that God blessed me with, in a city that we love. I want this city to reach its full potential that our children will grow up to be proud of.

Because of this, my family and I will always be Peebles For The People of Lynn Haven. If you put your faith in me, I promise to work hard to help Lynn Haven reach its true potential.
