Candidate: Alexander R. Everts

I was born and raised in Ocala, and have lived here my whole life minus 2 years away at Florida State, where I finished my BA in History after having received my AA right here at College of Central Florida. I went on to complete an Master's degree in History from Liberty University in 2017, and I have taught in our schools here with MCPS in the past. 
I believe in keeping our consistent growth as a city responsible and rewarding for our community, making sure our public transportation system is serving the people it should be serving, and making sure our first responders are the best responders. But it doesn't stop with making sure our first responders are taken care of- in order to serve the people, our full city staff needs to be the best trained and taken care of all around. Human resource is the most valuable resource in the world, we should take care of ours.
I have served the City of Ocala Municipal Arts Commission, the Board of Directors for Y-Not theater and the Friends of the Ocala Christmas Parade, and own a small business here locally. I was born and raised here, raise my son here, and I want this to be the same wholesome community I grew up with just with a modern spin and growth for my son and future children and grandchildren to enjoy. Slowcala is out and Growcala is in- I just want it to still look like it has the same values that we all love and know firsthand in our community.
