Candidate: Perry Mitrano

Proud to be a Resident of Flagler County.  Purchased land and had a home built in Matanzas Woods in 2005 to be near my supportive in-laws, Joseph & Carol who are residents of Pine Lakes.  While in New York met and married Diana Minotti-Mitrano in 2000 and had son Joseph.  Joseph Mitrano grew up in Palm Coast and attended Belle Terre Elementary, Indian Trails Middle School and participated in Archery and now is driving and a Marching Band student at Matanzas High School.  His brother Steven Mitrano is married to his wife Jennifer live on Long Island N.Y. and has two beautiful children Keira Rose and Logan Joseph. I am truly a blessed husband, father, and grandfather!

Having been a serial entrepreneur since high school. Owned and operated the family’s New York City Bronx based scrap metal, recycling, and waste management business that started in 1917 by his Grandfather Nicolas which continued with his Father, Mother & three Brothers until successfully sold in 1993.

A career that continued with two fortune Waste Management 500 companies. Managing 100’s of employees and many budgets in excess of $50 million dollars. Making a successful transition to Florida in 2005. Employed locally with a regional Waste Management company until venturing out as an Entrepreneur in the food services industry in 2007.

Was a proud owner of a family Hotdog and Hamburger restaurant in Ormond-by-the-Sea.  There’s nothing like an NYC dirty water hot dog on a roll with onions in a red sauce of course. Also owner and operated three Martin’s Potato Rolls bread routes in Jacksonville, FL from 2007-January 2011.  We successfully sold both Companies which moved me on to my next endeavor.

Joined the City of Bunnell as a Solid Waste Consultant in 2008 to develop its solid waste services department. Hired in December 2010 as the Department Director held other operations Director positions, Solid Waste, Public Works, Water & Waste Water Utilities, Fleet Maintenance, Parks & Rec until retiring in July 2019.

Currently, I’m a licensed Florida Auctioneer #5002 and enjoy working with my wife Diana Minotti at her business of 11 years - Diana Minotti Fine Art, Antiques & Collectibles with a brick and mortar 4000 square-foot Gallery,15 Palm Harbor Village Way at Barbosa Plaza in Palm Coast. 

My wife Diana and I have been embedded in the community, supporting the local art scene: Flagler County Art League, Palm Coast Art Foundation, City Repertory Theater, Flagler Auditorium, and Flagler Playhouse as well as the Salvo Art Project.  Our company was a member of the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce, Flagler County Association of Realtors as well as the Estate Planning Council of the Fun Coast.  We have supported local candidates for political office and will proudly continue to remain residents of the community until the end of time.

Let's talk Mosquitos! 

The District has excellent staff and a very experienced and competent Director. This is really good news for the taxpayer. They take their work seriously and treat their position in the same way that a doctor, nurse, police officer, firefighter, and the garbageman or women treat their jobs with a passion for the work. 

Being engaged as a Board member will assist the current staff to achieve their goals and needs by asking questions, getting involved, and learning about how we may improve services.  

I'm asking for your votes but not your money. I will not be asking for donations during these financially hard times. Nor do I want to have the appearance of beholden to any benefactors. Some folks want to donate because they trust me and understand my want to serve the community. They can donate if they so choose and I thank them should they want to donate.

Remember voting for me will give the taxpayer transparency, fiscal responsibility, accessibility to their Commissioner, and support to the employees of the East Flagler Mosquito Control District.
