Candidate: Donald Alan Greene

Donald (Don) Greene was born in South Carolina and moved to Miami at the age of three.  He has always considered himself a Floridian.  In 1976, Don joined the military.  He changed branches from the Navy to the Army and retired as a Sargent First Class / E-7 with 24 years’ service, 20 years active duty in September 2000.   He was awarded two Army Meritorious Service Medals, two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, one Navy Good Conduct and five Army Good Conduct Medals, Humanitarian Service Medal, and National Defense Medal as well as numerous other ribbons and awards.

After retirement, Don became a Defense Contractor.  As a logistician in Iraq, he quickly moved forward into management positions, including South West Asia Theater Logistics Manager, USEURA Logistics Manager (Europe), Technical Director (Europe), Deputy Program Manager, and Senior Manager for a top 10 ranked defense contract company.  Don retired from defense contracting in 2016 and moved back to Florida.

In preparation for his retirement, Don attended two Bob Ross Certification classes and is a Certified Ross Instructor.   Don owns a local small business, an art studio that specializes in teaching adults how to paint using the Bob Ross Wet-on-Wet Technique®. 

“I’m running for Mayor as I believe we can do better for our friends and neighbors.  I find it disheartening that so much of our workforce must struggle with their finances, trying to make ends meet with few employment options above entry level positions.   I believe that allowing higher level technical businesses into our community, with better pay and benefits, will greatly enhance the welfare of so many of our friends and neighbors.  Better paying jobs will make housing more affordable, allow parents to be home in the evenings to love, support and mentor their children, and lower the desperation so many feel from working 60 to 80 hours a week.   Bio-Medical Research, Defense Contracting, and the Aerospace Industry are prime candidates just to name a few.  The motto for Palm Coast is ‘Find Your Florida’.  Together, we CAN give every Palm Coast resident a Florida worth finding!”
