Candidate: Tonya S Gordon

Tonya S Gordon is seeking a seat as a Bunnell City Commissioner.

Tonya is a 3rd generation Flagler County resident and graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School.

As a 16-year employee of Elbert Tucker Insurance, she has a 4-40 Customer Service Representative License and is very knowledgeable about large business insurance. Tonya's previous employment includes Dr. Morris Carter, Dr. Safwan Shams and at the Putnam Community Hospital as a surgical tech. Before she could legally drive, she ran heavy equipment with her father, clearing land for development in Bunnell and Daytona North. In addition to personal and commercial insurance, Tonya has experience in office management, customer service, purchasing and receiving, accounting and land maintenance and development.

Tonya’s current commitments include:

•    City of Bunnell Charter Committee

•    Planning, Zoning and Appeals Board

•    Treasurer – Flagler County Fair and Youth Show Board

•    Director – Flagler County Historical Society

Prior commitments include:

•    City of Bunnell Community Development Block Grant Committee

•    Secretary – Bunnell FFA Alumni Board

•    Scholarship Committee – Bunnell FFA Alumni Board

Tonya raised her daughter in Bunnell, who is a graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School and a 2019 graduate of Florida State University. Her daughter is a recent graduate of St. Johns Police Academy and is now a part of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. 

In her free time, Tonya also does extensive genealogical and historical research in Flagler County, the State of Florida, and numerous other states.
