Re-Elect Tony Anderson

I am Tony Anderson, current Walton County Commissioner – District 5, running for re-election because Walton County needs consistent, conservative leadership during this difficult time.

Over the past four years, I have worked to help improve our roads and infrastructure, keep property taxes among the lowest in Florida, and vigorously defend the public’s right to access and use our beaches. The next four years will demand even more from Walton County’s leaders. We must:

• Aggressively work to bring better-paying jobs and new industries to Walton County, while supporting and protecting existing businesses as they rebuild after the Coronavirus.
• Continue to strongly support Customary Use of the beaches to protect our rights, protect our economy, and protect our property values and jobs.
• Keep taxes low while continuing to support our first responders, our dedicated county employees, and our core county services.
• Improve quality of life by expanding access to needed services, including countywide Internet access and rural health care.

About Tony Anderson

I was raised in Walton County, Florida after my family relocated to the area from Bainbridge, GA. Once settled, we opened a hardware and grocery store in Freeport to serve the needs of the local community.  It was there, at my family’s small business, that I gained valuable business knowledge. For over 30 years, I delivered mail as a rural carrier for the US Postal Service. After I retired from the Postal Service, I started my own business. With a strong base of customers in South Walton, I built my insulation and garage door repair firm into a successful 45-person operation and sold the business in 2009.  As a result of my work experience in Walton County, I developed personal relationships and gained an understanding of the needs within my community which prepared me for a lifetime of leadership as a community servant.

Although most of my life has been dedicated to our community, I have always managed to prioritize my faith and spending time with my family. I am a faithful Christian and attend Destiny Worship in Miramar Beach. I am the proud father of three adult children (Keagan, Colby, and Logan), two granddaughters (Ellie and Eden) and one grandson (Elijah). My greatest accomplishment to date is becoming “Pop” to my three beautiful grandchildren who are the light of my life. In my spare time, I have lent my talents to coaching Little League in Walton County for 15 years, served as a charter member of the South Walton Kiwanis Club, and served as a board member of the Walton County Small Business Association.

As a County Commissioner, I have made it my mission to better Walton County and improve overall quality of life for its residents. I have played an instrumental role in unifying the north and south-ends of the county,  implementing improvements to county infrastructure and roadways to increase accessibility and safety, enhancing and expanding recreational opportunities, reducing property taxes (third lowest in Florida), promoting industry growth to increase better paying jobs and speaking to two Senate Committees as a strong proponent for Customary Use.

As your candidate up for re-election, Walton County Commissioner – District 5, I pledge to support Walton County’s growth for future generations.
