Nationally Recognized Expert in the Corporate Governance Field

• Over a decade of experience promoting and implementing best practices in corporate governance with Boards of major public corporations, including my current role as Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary at Hertz Global Holdings.
• Currently serving a 4-year term on the Board of Directors for the Society of Corporate Governance, a national organization, where I also have served as Chair of the Educational Programming Committee since 2019.

Voluntarily Attended Lee Health Board Meetings since 2019

• Regular attendee at Board meetings, despite not being an elected member of the Board.
• Regular attendee at Governance Committee meetings, also despite not being an elected member of this committee. 
• Engaged with existing Board members during this period of time and developed collaborative relationships.

Extensive Business Law Experience

• Over 30 years of experience as a lawyer.
• Advised major public and private corporations on a wide variety of legal matters including major commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, financings, compliance matters and corporate governance.
• My legal experience will allow me to be capable of understanding the evolving changes to the Lee County market and potential regulatory and legislative developments.

Certified Public Accounting (CPA) Experience

• Prior to commencing my legal career, I worked for one of the three largest CPA firms and obtained a CPA license.
• I am comfortable with understanding financial statements and performance.

Ability to Improve the Board’s Overall Composition by Adding Key Skills

• Demonstrated leadership in improving Board governance and oversight.
• Sophisticated legal experience assisting Boards when dealing with challenging issues.
• General business acumen from nearly 35 years of career experience that started with CPA licensure.

As to my life outside of my career pursuits, my wife, Stephanie, who is a healthcare administration professional, and I live in the Verandah community.  We enjoy being active including hiking and biking, playing golf and tennis, traveling when we can and most importantly spending time with our children.  We pride ourselves on being active in the communities that we have lived in.  We have volunteered in numerous fashions, and for me this has been most recently in tennis-related activities, including serving as the Grievance Chair for the USTA Florida Section during 2021.
