Candidate: Christopher Moore

     Hello, I’m Chris Moore and I would like your vote for Bay School Board, District 3 representative.  I’m a Panama City native and a graduate of Bay District Schools (K-12th grade).  Both my son and daughter are graduates of Bay District Schools (elementary, middle and High School).  Having witnessed and experienced numerous school districts over thirteen duty stations around the country, I am passionate about Bay District education and its impact on students, families and the community as a whole.  I strongly desire to do my part in improving our system for all of the people mentioned above, as well the teachers and administrators that make it happen.

     Following my military career of 24+ years in the U.S. Navy (retired Captain), I returned to Panama City ten years ago and joined the team at General Dynamics IT in 2012 as the Director of Operations/Senior Program Manager/Site Lead.  I am responsible for all facets of the business office and rapid prototyping/fabrication shop, to include financial and contract management, human resources, Quality Assurance.  Projects include Diving Life Support (hyperbaric chamber overhauls, Helium-Oxygen Dive Rig depot maintenance), Joint Expeditionary Command and Control Systems and a variety of other Defense systems support.

Over the last ten years, I have dedicated time to give back a small part of what Bay County has given me, through volunteer work at several organizations, including:

As third generation career Navy from Florida, I was born in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (parents stationed there with U.S. Navy) and have been a resident of Panama City, FL since 1968.  I have/am married to Tammy Moore (ne’e Nelson) of Chipley, FL for 27 years and we have two children, son Stephen (24) and daughter, Jordan (21).
