Candidate: Ann Leonard

I am running for Bay District School Board, District 2, because I have a deep belief that education is the most valuable and important investment necessary for the success of a community. My husband Mitch, and I, have chosen Bay County as our home and as citizens, we want to see continued growth and success. I believe we have an unexpected opportunity with the rebuilding of our town to review and evaluate all aspects of our schools and find ways to move them forward.

As a parent, grandparent, educator and community member, I recognize that our schools have an impact on everything –on business, on families, on employers and on community success. I also understand that the school board functions most effectively with varied and differing perspectives. Having worked in 3 school districts in 3 different states, I can bring that necessary new perspective to the BDS school board.
