Brett was elected to the Sumter County School Board in 2020, serving as Board Chairman in 2023. During his first term on the School Board Brett worked together with students, parents, educators and his partner School Board Members to:
Brett Sherman is a lifelong resident of Sumter County and a graduate of Sumter County Public Schools. He attended Bushnell Elementary, South Sumter Middle School and South Sumter High School before graduating from Florida State University with a degree in Business Administration.
Brett and his family reside in beautiful Lake Panasoffkee. His wife, Landi, is in her 14th year as a Guidance Counselor at Lake Panasoffkee Elementary and their children Landen and Delani attend South Sumter High School and The Villages Charter School respectively.
Brett’s commitment to education has deep roots as both his grandfather, father and mother were educators. Brett has actively served in the community on South Sumter Middle School’s Improvement Council and has served on Sumter County Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors since 2018 and was recently sworn in for another term in 2024.
