Wesley Wilcox
Wesley Wilcox, CERA is the Supervisor of Elections for Marion County. He was first elected on November 6, 2012 and re-elected in 2016 without opposition. At the time, Wesley had more than a decade of experience working for Marion County. He worked his way up from being hired as Systems Administrator in 2001 to Marion County’s Assistant Supervisor of Elections, a position he held for seven years. To date, Wesley has worked in the elections industry for almost 30 years.
As Supervisor of Elections, Wesley is responsible for administering all federal, state, county, municipal and special district elections held within Marion County. Wesley is committed to ensuring that all Marion County elections are conducted transparently, accurately, and securely.
Milestones during Wesley’s tenure with Marion County: Completed reapportionment/redistricting for 2002, 2012, and 2016; Implemented the optical scan voting system, the popular early voting ballot on-demand system, and the electronic voter check-in station for all Marion County voting locations; Earned the election industry’s highest designation, Certified Elections/Registration Administrator (CERA), a nationally recognized certification from the National Association of Election Officials.
Wesley earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Central Arkansas. He is a graduate of Leadership Ocala/Marion County, Class XIX. He is a past member of the LOM Board of Regents and the Marion County Literacy Council Board of Directors.
Wesley is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Ocala and attends Blessed Trinity Catholic Church with his wife Sheila. They are proud parents of their three sons, John, Joseph, and Jacob.
