Candidate: Jesse Nelson

Hi, I’m Jesse Nelson. I am married (14 years) with two children. My wife, Catesha and I own a small business in Lynn Haven, Coastal Massage and Wellness Clinic.

I am the senior pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and a board member of Anchorage Children’s Home, Cornerstone Trust, and Pastors United of Bay County. I have community partnerships with Bay Youth Summer Work Program, Girl Scouts, Law Enforcement, Lead Coalition, Panama City Rescue Mission, and several churches in the area. I am also a member of the Government Affairs Committee of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce.

I volunteer as a police chaplain and mentor at Mosley High School. I have coached soccer, softball, and T-Ball. I am an instructor and trainer at Pure Platinum Health & Fitness in Lynn Haven. Before Hurricane Michael, our church established ministries to serve the youth, homeless, and seniors. After Hurricane Michael, we became a disaster relief hub serving more than 5,000 people. Currently, we serve the community through the Bags of Love food pantry.

I’m running for mayor because I care about our community. I believe my experience and education, which includes a doctorate in leadership, has equipped me with the essential qualities of a good mayor: integrity, leadership, organizational management, communication, service, and most importantly, the ability to listen.
