Candidate: Stacie Houchins

I am a lifelong resident of Bay County and have lived in Lynn Haven since 2015. I have been married to my husband Todd for over 6 years. He is a 27 year US Air Force Veteran and now a Department of Defense Civil Servant for 4+ years at Tyndall AFB. We have five beautiful children. Kaitlyn is a graduate of Rutherford High School. Our other 4 children all attend North Bay Haven Charter Academy (NBH). Declan is a senior, Kael is a sophomore, Teagan is in 8th grade, and Brooke is in 5th grade.

I am a part time substitute teacher at NBH, as well as the assistant Boys and Girls Varsity Weightlifting Coach. I happen to be one of only two certified level 1 coaches this side of the “bridge.” I am the president of the varsity football booster as well as the president of the boys & girls NBH weightlifting booster.  I am also half owner in a small local aeronautical company, Fly Away Aviation, LLC.

I have spent time as a Board member on my neighborhoods Home Owners Association (HOA), where I interacted with numerous agencies in the City of Lynn Haven and the Bay County Community. Helping people is what I do.

I also had the distinct pleasure of working on Tyndall AFB from May 2000 through January 2015 as a Youth Developmental Professional, where I was the lead teacher for cadre of 15 and built and approved lesson plans for the entire Youth programs.

I believe my years of government (USAF), and community service (Lynn Haven & NBH) gives me the background to be your commissioner. I will do my best to the Serve the the City of Lynn Haven and it’s citizens. I will ask the tough questions. I will do it with honor and honesty and above all I will do what is right for Our City.
