Candidate: Ellyne Fields

Welcome, my name is Ellyne Mary Klepser Fields and I am running for Mayor of the beautiful city of Lynn Haven. As your Mayor, I will work relentlessly to continue restoring our community, being a catalyst for growth and change, welcoming new ideas and opportunities and promoting integrity and transparency with all whom reside here.

I’m the wife of a retired, 20 year US Air Force veteran who served in both Vietnam and the Gulf War. I’m a mother of 5 total (blended family) and a grandmother of 3. My husband and I chose to retire here in Lynn Haven nearly 4 years ago and I’m proud to call this city our home. Prior to settling in Lynn Haven, I lived in Spokane, Washington and enjoyed the majesty of the scenery the Northwest had to offer. I was born and raised in New Jersey, earning my Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and Biology from Glassboro State College. I then attended Penn State University and East Stroudsburg University to obtain advanced degrees in Teaching and Administration. I spent the majority of my professional career living and working in Pennsylvania and Virginia.

As a former private education Principal / Director and small business owner of 25+ years, I understand the dedication it takes to operate and thrive through the good times and the bad. I plan to work toward stimulating our local economy and protecting the hard-working citizens of this community- especially those we rely on so greatly, such as the small businesses that keep this community going.

My greatest contribution to my fellow neighbors and to Lynn Haven have been as the President of the BoD for The Hammocks community. In my tenure over the last 2 years, I’ve focused on rebirth and regrowth amidst the devastation caused by Hurricane Michael. Serving the community and uniting our neighbors is a responsibility I’m proud to embrace and will continue to embrace as your Mayor of Lynn Haven.

PRIORITIES.....

To find solutions to our constantly shifting budgets that leave some city employees and departments short handed and under staffed and to raise our pay for firefighters and police who are paid 18-25% below the national average.

To strengthen our current communication system in place. I want to improve and elevate the voices of everyone in the community so we all have a seat at the table when I hear, address and answer your concerns and issues in our community. This is a top priority. Every decision I make will be what is best for you.

This town deserves a proven leader that you can trust. Together, we will mend and repair a community that was formerly wounded by a natural disaster and lack of transparency from former leaders in office.
