I am a lifelong Republican and conservative and have spent much of my adult life in the service of my community and country.  I now serve as a Sumter County Commissioner where I serve ALL of Sumter County. 

A 2o year Navy veteran, I spent my career operating nuclear reactors onboard submarines, service and sacrifice has always been a way of life.  After retiring from the Navy, I spent most of the next 20 years in the construction industry as an engineer, sales rep., regional operations manager, and finally the last 12 years as a project manager here in Florida.  I now run a successful small business that continues to grow and prosper in Sumter County.  These vocations all require fact-based, well thought out, pragmatic decision making to be successful.

I moved to Sumter County over eight years ago and immediately continued to pursue public service, serving two terms as a District Supervisor for CDD10 and on the Project Wide Advisory Committee where I served as Chairman for the last 4 and 2 years respectively before being appointed as a County Commissioner by the Honorable Governor Ron DeSantis.

Good decision making requires a complete grasp of all the facts of an issue, the laws, costs, and ramifications and weighing all of these to determine the best decisions possible.  This is what I did in the Navy, in construction, as a CDD supervisor, in my own business, and now as your County Commissioner.

The sad reality of our country today is that many try to cause divisions within our society to further their own agenda, agendas that have proven time and again to be not in the best interests of our country.  This divisiveness has worked its way into Sumter County like a festering disease.  There are those that would have you believe that there are only two classes of people, the Residents First group and the Developer First group and that if you don’t agree 100% with the first group, you must be in the latter.  This ill-conceived notion relies on spreading misinformation, discontent, and an uninformed leadership.  This division failed Sumter County 2 years ago and will fail Sumter County again if we fall prey to this propaganda.  I do not believe in this division; I believe in putting SUMTER FIRST. 

SUMTER FIRST is the simple belief that Sumter County is ONE COUNTY, made up of ALL of its residents as well as the businesses and workers of the county.  ALL have an interest in the county and the continuation of a safe and prosperous community.  ALL must be considered in every decision.  Favoring any one over the other creates divisions in our community, divisions that leads to the degradation of one group, and ultimately the entire community.  Economically and socially, we cannot survive as a divided community, we must be ONE COUNTY, ONE COMMUNITY, and work to the betterment of ALL of Sumter County in a fair, balanced, and honest way, putting SUMTER FIRST is the path to the continued success of Sumter County.

I will always put SUMTER FIRST, through practical and reasonable decision making that puts the best interests of ALL of Sumter County before any one group or special interest.
