Candidate: Stephen Lapp

I have had the privilege to serve as your District 7 supervisor seat 3 (REPRESENTING THE VILLAGES OF HEMINGWAY, DUVAL, HADLEY & BONITA), vice-chair, and alternate representative to the Project Wide Advisory Committee (PWAC). During my time in this position I was able to add penalty clause to all contracts (previously a vendor could just walk away without penalty), reduce the issues caused by the trolls, negotiate with the Sumter Landing Community Development District to get better control of the funds that we are required to give them for our maintenance (currently over 50%). Perhaps one of the major accomplishments has been to keep our maintenance fees at the current level and I am pleased to say that there will be NO increase in the coming year!

In my previous life before moving to The Villages I designed a lithotripter and trained physicians around the world in its use, Performed digital forensics for the DOJ/DEA, and served in the USN submarine force. I was the AAC chair for the Firnshire Farms HOA and later president of the HOA
