Candidate's Statement

Duhart's a life long resident of Fort Pierce, FL raised by his grandmother Joann Robinson, Miriam Robinson Mother, and Henry Duhart Father under strong christian values and the belief that nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it. His mother has worked in the ESE department in the st. lucie county school system for many years helping to educate special needs students. And his father has worked for the city of Fort Pierce as a public service worker for as long as he can remember instilling in him the meaning of hard work and sweat. He's a graduate of Ft. Pierce Westwood High School. Duhart went off to Florida A & M University for 3 years as a business student where he became very involved off campus as a activist within the leon county local homeless community and after school programs. He believed that the combination of the arts, culture, and strong determintation invokes positive change in any community. After his 3rd year due to family obligations moved back home on June 2016 to help take care of his grandmother. While back home he realized that within his community not much had changed concerning infrastructure, crimes, poverty, and the homeless community. And the common factor that he could point out in all of it was leadership that couldn't seem to figure out how to bring his hometown out of the poverty. So instead of running away and leaving his city he stood up and took the journey to be the change that his community needed. The next generation of leadership needs a spot at the table and together we can lead District 1 into a brighter day. We are not only the future but the key to issues in the present. We must get involved now not later in the process. I believe my campaign and victory will be the answer to igniting the flames of the progression in our community. Duhart's slogan is "Don't complain be the change."
