I was born in 1981 at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia. I am the youngest of three children of Alan and Karen McCall from Gainesville, Florida. I enlisted in the US Navy out of Lake Mary, FL, in 2002. I served my country for over 22 years as an Aircraft Structural Mechanic. My last duty station was aboard NAS Pensacola, which is what brought me here to Escambia County, where I retired as a Senior Chief in 2024. I enjoy watching college sports, coaching softball, fishing, anything to do with older vehicles, and collecting sports cards and sports memorabilia. I enjoy evenings at home for a movie or game with my family, which includes my amazing wife and our three great children.
My family and I moved to Barrineau Park/Molino in 2020. When we first moved to the area, we were immediately welcomed and accepted with open arms and hearts, so it was not a difficult decision to make when we chose to stay here and call this place home following my recent retirement from the Navy. Our children have attended Escambia County schools since relocating. We love the schools, the teachers, and the volunteers that we have met and that have worked with our children in the four years that we have been here. It is easy to see that there are many great people in this area who care deeply about all children, many of whom will be our leaders of the future.
I spent my Navy career making permanent positive changes while having only three to four years in a location to do so. Whether it was while being attached to a shore based rework facility leading the repair efforts of 200 Sailors and Civilians, at the sole east coast fighter jet squadron VFA-106 coordinating the repair of 42 aircraft for daily flights to keep a 24 hour a day 7 day a week schedule, at sea on board an aircraft carrier running a Production Control and the efforts of the third largest department on board the ship, or being the Senior Enlisted Leader for the International Command here in Pensacola leading the efforts of 125 Sailors and Civilians with an operating budget of $500 million, I am confident I can facilitate positive changes in a four-year term as the District 5 County Commissioner. There is so much difference to make and permanent good that needs to be done. With your vote and my resulting representation, we will be doing it together. We were left a great foundation by previous leaders. Just IMAGINE WHAT WE CAN BUILD UPON IT. I chose a life of service over 22 years ago, and I look forward to having the opportunity to continue serving the community that I love and respect.
I have my ideas on how to keep District 5 amazing.
1) Public Safety is a high priority.
2) Growing traffic concerns in regards to rise in population and traffic accidents.
3) Fully SUPPORTING First responders/Correctional Officers/Teachers best available training, and a truly respectable compensation and benefits package.
4) Smart-manageable growth to not erase District 5's unique character just for the money.
5) Getting our infrastructure the attention it needs not just when a development or project is coming.
6) Investing in youth programs/senior programs (parks/community centers/sports programs/life skills courses).
7) Accessible leadership that will actively listen and respond, also being fiscal responsibility to the citizens of this county.
8) Environmental stability by creating protected natural areas not only within District 5 but the county as a whole to preserve its diverse character. To the south we have a beautiful bay and beach on the gulf to the east and west are two great rivers then in the north some of the best farming lands Florida has to offer for either livestock or crops. All of that is here in one county! What a jewel we have and a duty we share in keeping our county this way and not turning into a giant city for our future generations.
Please know this is where I am starting however this is not just about me and my ideas. I will be YOUR voice, YOUR representative, and I will be accountable to YOU. In every meeting that I have attended, I have heard your voices, your ideas, and your concerns. I look forward to hearing even more. Just know I will be a full-time County Commissioner so my sole priority will be the people, your calls, your emails, your concerns, your thoughts and they will be addressed by the District 5 Office come November 5th. Every Citizen Matters, Every Citizen Counts. With your support, I will make your voice matter!!!
