Candidate: John Taylor Jr.

John E Taylor, Jr has lived in Cantonment for the past 15 years and is a J. M. Tate High School class of '02 alumni. He has spent much of his life in the woods and water of Escambia River. John’s wife is from Molino and both of his boys enjoy the peace and quiet of the Barrineau Park area, where they have the freedom to run, play, and feel safe. John loves district 5 and understands the wants and needs of its residents of district 5.  

John E Taylor, Jr is a Registered Nurse at HCA Florida West Hospital (West Florida Hospital), where he is a Cardiovascular Cath Lab nurse. He helps treat and educate the public about better ways to put their heart health first. John plans to use his nursing education and skills to improve district 5.

District 5 is a food desert for many of the residents. Instead of increasing the number of homes or housing units, we need to increase the number of food choices and to make it easier for many of our residents to gain access to food. John E Taylor, Jr does a fair amount of charity work and understands how to bring resources to those in need. In addition to increasing resources to those in need, John will focus on improving infrastructure and putting more of our assets to work. If John's children have a safe place to play, then all children of District 5 need safe places to spend time when not in school. Many children in district 5 do not have access to fun places to play during the long summer months, so John E Taylor, Jr has a plan to bring fun water days to these kids.
